Meet us

Mauricio

Guide

Mau has worked in tourism for over 18 years. Originally from San Ramon, this young nature lover enthusiast loves adventure but especially Rafting, because it was his very first job.
It has worked in California, Panama and of course all around Costa Rica as an adventure, canyoning and nature guide.
Mau was amazed by the Arenal Volcano erupting and one of his favorite animals is the King Vulture. In his free time he loves to cook, take photos and play with his children.
His favorite part of being a guide is to be helpful to other people and learning about different cultures.

Rony

Security Guide

Rony is our safety kayaker, he is been running rivers for 7 years and he loves extreme kayaking competitions, he has participated in several of them.
He is from Sarapiqui and coincidentally it´s his  favorite part of Costa Rica for its natural wealth and its much appreciated White Water River.
As a good Costa Rican he loves Chifrijo a traditional dish.
As a child he was always fascinated by nature, the connection that we can have with Mother Earth, the combination of adrenaline and wonderful views on the tours is something that he enjoys very much and being able to share it with other people is rewarding. Having this job has made him aware of the importance of taking care of our rivers and forests, protect them and teach people about it.

Cato

Guide

Cato is an adveturer from birth. As a child he spent his days playing on river rapids and in the forest, looking for animals under tree trunks.
He is been working as an adventure and nature guide for 6 years. He has worked in the Cajón del Maipo river in Chile and all over Costa Rica.
Cato is a nature lover, his favorite place in Costa Rica is Caño Negro, a wildlife refuge that host tons of fauna.
In his free time he loves to go fishing and doing some downhill in his bike.
One day in 2015 he was in the forest and Jaguar passed in front of him, that was one his most amazing experiences.
He is happy to be a guide because everyday is different and routine is not an option, there is always new stories to tell.

Johnny

CEO/Guide

Johnny is the founder of Flow Trips. He grew up in Turrialba, began his career as a guide on the famous Rio Pacuare and Reventazon back in 1995. He has worked as a tour guide in countries like Zambia, (Africa) Chile and of course Costa Rica. He has trained rafting guides in Costa Rica, Bhutan, and Honduras. All this experience has been of great contribution to building his own company and taking many visitors to live unique experiences.
He was certified as an IRF (Rafting Instructor) but his passion for nature has always had a lot of weight, which is why he was also certified as a Naturalist Guide, since then his vision has been to train certified multi-talented guides to generate adventure experiences, but also to guide and understand the nature that surrounds us.
Thank you for trusting Flow Trips to be your adventure and naturalism company in Costa Rica! Welcome!

Mey

Guide

Mei is the grandfather of the company. We have a special affection for him.
He has 33 years of experience … Don’t try to guess his age, because he doesn’t look like it!
He is a native of Guanacaste, he grew up very close to the sea and that is why he loves the water. He has worked in Texas USA and all over Costa Rica.
He is passionate about soccer, his favorite food is Seafood (and that is why he stays so healthy)
His most remarkable experience was seeing a Jaguar on a night walk.
As a child he dreamed of being a fisherman, but being a guide became his passion as an adult.
His satisfaction as a guide is to see his clients happy and excited by the experience.

Luis

Guide

Luis literally grew up among the rapids of the Sarapiquí River, where he is originally from.
He has worked as a guide for 12 years and has had the experience of working on the rapids of California, USA.
Luís loves nature and one of his favorite activities is bird watching.
He has participated in Kayak competitions and his favorite tour is Rafting.
Luis became a guide thanks to the fact that his father taught him to love nature, as a child he took him camping and those memories became a very important part of his life.
